Antidote Sneaker

Antidote

Antidote is a shoe concept that combines two fine eras of distinct sneaker culture - the 1980s, or the incubation of the everyday sneakers we love today, and the 2020s, were style is ornamentally pushed and supported by advanced manufacturing techniques.

The shoes combines a 3D-nitted soft upper, with visually reinforcing details carefully placed in high-load areas, which are all held together on a contemporary twist on a typical white-block sneaker sole.

Conceptualization

Process

The goal was to replicate the shoe in CAD exactly as it was sketched. Creating reference images from existing shoes with tape in combination with a last from Nike made the base for a well-proportioned shoe.

It was surfaced-modelled in Rhino, and rendered in Keyshot. Great care was taken to construct the shoe in layers replicated a real shoe, to gain a deeper understanding of the construction, and to create more realistic renders in relation to seams and layering.
